2023-24 SEASON HOCKEY REGISTRATION UPDATES

CRHL/Rec Hockey Info

NCYH offers a Recreational hockey program for each age division. These age divisions are 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U. This program is designed for those that enjoy hockey but are relatively new to the game or have other interests outside of hockey that simply do not allow them to play competitive hockey. All of our Recreational teams play in and are governed by the rules of the Colorado Recreational Hockey League (CRHL). 


AGES

  • 10U - 2013 and 2014 Birth Years
  • 12U - 2011 and 2012 Birth Years
  • 14U - 2009 and 2010 Birth Years
  • 18U - 2005-2008 Birth Years

WHERE

CRHL/REC practices are held at EPIC. *Some CRHL/Rec midget teams may practice at the Budweiser Event Center (BEC)

Games will be held at Epic & NoCo Ice Center. 

WHEN

The CRHL Season will begin in September with evaluations for Midget, bantam and Peewee. CRHL season will start mid late September for squirts. 

Teams will play 7-8 "tiering" games prior to Thanksgiving. These tiering games are designed to give the league commissioner an overview of team strength. Once the tiering games are complete, teams will be placed in a competitive division and will play up to 7-8 league games in their respective division (Red, White, Blue).

GAMES

Games will start in late September for Midget, bantams and Peewees. Squirts games start in October. Allstart dates are subject to the CRHL timeline made in the fall . Games are played on either Saturday OR Sunday. Schedule varies each weekend. The regular season will end the weekend before Presidents Day. Playoffs will be played the weekend after Presidents Day. The Cup and CAHA State Championships will be played the first two weekends in March.

PRACTICES

Practices by age level 

10U- 2 sixty min (60) practices weekday evenings

12U- 2 sixty min (60) practices weekday evenings/Saturday morning practice 

14U- 1 ninty min (90) practice per week- Weeknight 

18U- 1 ninty min (90)practice per week- Weeknight 

 

EXTRA COSTS

Extra costs could include:

  • tournament entry fees
  • hotel and food if necessary
  • apparel
  • protective gear and equipment
  • Jerseys and socks 

 


Registration Steps

1) USA Hockey
Keep this 9 number/5 letter registration number close

2) Complete online Google Contract (Scroll to bottom of page for Google contract link)
Please fill in PLAYER NAME in all sections for name (parent names will be asked in specific fields) otherwise always complete form for player

3) Payment of Deposit in online EZFacility system
Please fill in PLAYER NAME in all sections for name (parent names will be asked in specific fields) otherwise always complete form for player. This link will be shared once you have completed the online Google Contract, you cannot make payment until this contract is done. The payment through online EZFacilty is the final step. 

USA Hockey Registration- STEP 1

First, please ensure you have a BRAND NEW USA Hockey Number ready to enter BEFORE starting.

Visit www.usahockeyregistration.com to register for your new USA Hockey number 

(The entire number will be 9 numbers AND 5 letters with the fourth digit as a "4" -- i.e., 123412345SMITH) You will need this before starting our registration.

You cannot use your 22-23 hockey number, all players (U8, CRHL/Rec, & RMHF/Travel) are required to register for a new number each spring for the upcoming fall season.

USA Hockey has changed the fee rate based on birth year for the 2023-2024 season. 

In addition to the USA Hockey fee there is a  $20 fee to our affiliate Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA). All of this is paid when you get your players 23-24 USA Hockey number
