Edges and Conditioning
Join the NCYH Hockey Directors, led by Coach Swanny, for 5 days of conditioning, power skating, and edge work prior to the start of the season. Each day will include back-to-back ice sessions (10 hours of ice total) filled with high-intensity skating to prepare your players' conditioning level for the year. The sessions will include positional stick tricks to help players with balance and stride power, multi-directional edge work, crossover and crossunder work, stride length drills, explosive starts, and edge control while stopping, pivoting, and transitioning from forward to backward.
A maximum of 30 skaters will be allowed in the camp, and birth years 2012-2016 will be given priority. If your child falls outside of these birth years, please email Director Swanson at directorswanson@ncyh.org for potential opportunities. If the camp sells out but you'd like to be added to a wait list, please email Director Swanson as well. If demand far exceeds the available skater slots, it is possible another group could be accommodated.
