Here is what you can expect from Power Skating:
2026 Power Skating
All sessions held at NoCo Ice Center
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Edge control and balance through full range-of-motion skating
- Stride mechanics, posture, and weight transfer for efficient speed
- Starts, stops, and transitions with control and purpose
- Skating alignment and power-angle awareness
- Building confidence with puck control through repeatable, intentional movement patterns

- Coordination drills to improve edge awareness and puck control
- Multitasking skills: maintaining skating quality while handling the puck
- Rhythm, timing, and flow for smoother movement on the ice
- Decision-making through movement — learning when and how to apply speed
- Position-neutral skating drills to develop adaptable, well-rounded skaters
- Confidence-building reps that translate skating skills into game situations
WHO SHOULD REGISTER
This program is ideal for players who want to:
- Improve skating control, balance, and efficiency
- Develop stronger edges and cleaner stride mechanics
- Feel more confident skating at higher speeds
- Learn to carry and control the puck without sacrificing skating quality
- Build a solid skating foundation that supports long-term player development
Minimum requirement:
- Players must be able to perform backward crossovers
- → No refunds will be issued if this skill requirement is not met
WHAT TO BRING
- Full hockey gear (neck guard required)
- Water
- Post-skate recovery snack and/or protein shake

Other Fee Information
- Due to limited spaces no sibling discount will be offered.
- No sessions will be pro-rated due to missing any sessions throughout the summer
-Players not able to make assigned ice time will not be allowed to attend other sessions as they will be full.
**NOTE: Many of the players can benefit from our learn to skate classes (includes crossovers and beginning transitions).
